By raw numbers the Philippines leads by far, with about 183,000 bearers.2 By concentration the picture changes. In Paraguay about 1 in 162 people is an Aquino, and in the Dominican Republic about 1 in 328, so the name is denser in both countries than in the Philippines (1 in 553).23 In the United States the 2010 census counted 25,783 Aquinos, ranking the name 1,368th.4 Italy, where the name began, has only about 4,000 bearers today.2 See every ranked country and their stories →

Bam Aquino returns to the Senate
He placed second in the 2025 Senate election with 20,971,899 votes and took office on 30 June 2025. Committee chairs were vacated in a Senate reorganization on 11 May 2026. In June 2026 he regained the basic education and science and technology committees and took over trade, commerce and entrepreneurship.56
Ninoy's 43rd anniversary
The family marked Ninoy Aquino Day on 21 August 2026 with a Mass at the family tomb, attended by Ballsy, Viel, Kiko and Bimby.7
Kris Aquino health update and TV return
Kris Aquino disclosed an operation on 29 September and a new autoimmune diagnosis.8 A two-part special with Boy Abunda airs 28–29 October 2026.9
